Production Resumes on Elgin/Franklin

On March 9, 2013, production resumed on Elgin/Franklin, in the British North Sea. It was shut down on March 25, 2012 following a gas leak on the G4 well on the Elgin field.

The leak was stopped on May 15 after mud was injected into the well.

The well was then permanently plugged with five cement plugs, the last of which was set in place on October 22, 2012, creating a 1,000-meter thick barrier.
